English Translation: “A day of vengeance, in which He Himself avenges the perfidy of the Jews, concerning whom the Psalmist says: The Lord is a God of vengeance, the God of vengeance has acted freely. Rise up, You who judge the earth, render retribution to the proud. In that day of vengeance the days of Baal are visited upon that nation, with a visitation which the whole world knows, because both according to the body they are captive, and according to the soul they are cast into outer darkness…”

For because they do not seek Christ their king, they are worthy to have neither king nor prince from among themselves. They also sit without sacrifice and without altar; because the place where they had the temple and altar has been lost…”

Hence he himself, when he had said: ‘I have come in my Father’s name, and you have not received me,’ added: ‘If another comes in his own name, him you will receive.'”
