Selections of Ernest Jouin’s Writings on the Jews

Monsignor Ernest Jouin (21 December 1844 – 27 June 1932) was a French Catholic priest, counterrevolutionary writer, and founder of the Revue Internationale des Sociétés Secrètes (International Journal of Secret Societies, hereafter RISS) and the accompanying Ligue Franc-Catholique. He was elevated to the prelature in 1918 by Pope Benedict XV, who praised him for affirming “with constancy and courage the rights of the Catholic Church — not without danger to your life — against the sects that are enemies of religion.” In 1919, Pope Pius XI gave him the apostolic blessing for his work, and in 1924 raised him to the dignity of Apostolic Protonotary. The RISS, the first publication to issue a French edition of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (1920), was described by Msgr. Jouin’s official biographer Canon Sauvetre as the instrument of a man driven by “intense religiosity” who saw “above human events, the clash between Our Lord Jesus Christ, Saint Michael and the faithful angels and the devil and the fallen angels.” The New York Times accurately reported that Jouin’s mission included viewing “the Jews through a triple lens — race, nationality, and religion — as ‘the enemy of humanity’.”

His principal works include the multi-volume Le Péril judéo-maçonnique (1920–1929), his RISS editorials, and his final public address, “Papacy and Freemasonry” (December 8, 1930). I. The Jew as the Enemy of Humanity

III. Supersessionism and the Counter-Church

“Ever since 1738 all the Sovereign Pontiffs denounced, stigmatized and condemned the enemy of the Church, the Counter-Church, whose proclaimed aim is to: ‘Decatholicize the world.’ It seeks to rebuild on the ashes of the Christian Civilization the pagan barbarism, and to build on the ruins of the Papacy the world domination of Israel. Furthermore, as a sign of its victory, it wants to erect over the overthrown throne of Jesus Christ the very throne of Satan.”

IV. Anti-Zionism: Jewish World Domination

V. The Jews as Masters of Freemasonry

VI. The Counter-Morality: Gold, Revolution, and the Subversion of Christian Society
