How Do You Make Catholic Songs With Suno AI?

Making Songs With Suno

People have been wondering how we make our Catholic songs with Suno.

In this article I will show you step-by-step how we do so.

Step 1: Navigate To Suno

Firstly, you will want to click on the below link to go to the web app:

https://suno.com

Step 2: Click Create

After the page loads, click “Create”.

Step 3: Create A Song

There are 3 ways you can create a song:

  1. Write a song description
  2. Write your own lyrics
  3. Upload audio

Step 3a: Write A Song Description

Fill out the song description with as much detail as possible, and then click “Create”.

We typically don’t use this that often because the AI will generally write songs that are just “meh”.

The AI won’t even try to write songs with “politically incorrect” themes (like criticizing the Jews).

Thus, this has limited uses.

We tend to use it when we have writer’s block to create song lyrics, and then tweak them to make them our own.

Step 3b: Write Your Own Lyrics

Write you own lyrics in the Lyrics field, and make sure to give each section a tag (Verse, Chorus, Bridge, etc.) in brackets. See below.

Choose a “Style of Music”. Here are some favorite ones we use:

“Bluegrass” for our Jewgrass songs.

“Epic War Music” for our crusader songs.

“Female pop” for our Jew Pop songs.

Example:

Feel free to experiment to see what works.

Finally, enter a title of your own choosing, and click “Create”.

Step 3c: Upload Audio

Click “Upload Audio”.

Choose to either drag/drop/upload a file or click “Record Audio”.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend you use this feature unless you have a very specific melody in mind for the song.

I have uploaded my bass lines using this feature a couple of times.

Also, we have used “Record Audio” a few times to get the song to have the exact melody we want.

If you do use this to record a vocal melody, then you will want to click on the generated song:

And then “Edit Displayed Lyrics”.

Then input your lyrics:

So when you use the “Extend” function later, it knows what you sang in this melody line.

Step 4: Choose A Song

Once you create a song, Suno will generate 2 versions.

You can click on the generated pictures to play each song.

If you don’t like the songs that generated, then either repeat the other steps and tweak the song, or just click “Create” until you get a version you like.

You can also use the “Reuse Prompt” option.

Optional Step 5: Replace Section

Let’s say you like a song, but one section is messed up for some reason.

In that case, you use “Replace Section”.

Click the 3 dots, click “Edit”, and then “Replace Section”.

On the Replace Section screen, choose the beginning and ending of the section you want to replace at the top (making sure it covers the exact lyrics on the right), then choose the replacement lyrics, any replacement style changes, and then click “Recreate Section”.

Confirm if everything is correct.

Two new sections will be generated. Choose the section or want with “Select” (or regenerate).

This will take you back to the Create screen with the sections you generated, in addition to the new version of the “Full Song” with the section you chose.

Optional Step 6: Extend A Song

Let’s say you like a song, but you want it longer or it didn’t end correctly.

In that case, you use the “Extend” feature.

Extend allows you to extend the song from anywhere in the song, in order to end the song how you want.

After you click “Extend”, choose at what time stamp you want to extend (you can go as early in the song as you want, if you want to completely redo the ending) and then click “Extend”.

Suno will generate a couple more versions of the song that is a subsequent part of the original song.

Again, choose the version you want (or regenerate), and then click the three dots.

Then click “Create” and “Get Whole Song”.

Suno will then generate the entire song with the new ending.

Optional Step 7: Crop A Song

Let’s say you like a song, but it just kept going after a natural stop.

In that case, you use the “Crop Song” feature.

Click the 3 dots, click “Edit”, and then “Crop Song”.

On the Crop screen, choose the beginning and ending of the song at the top (making sure it keeps whatever lyrics you want to keep on the right), and then click “Crop Song”.

Suno will regenerate your song at the exact starting and ending point you specified.

Final Step: Download A Song

If you are happy with you song, then the final step is to download it.

To download a song, click the 3 dots, “Download”, and then choose “Audio” or “Video”.

The song is now yours to keep and do what you want with! Enjoy!

General Tips

-Don’t sin. I.e. don’t lie or have your song contain cuss words, vulgarities, promote vice (especially lust), lack of charity, etc.

-Alternate [Verse] and [Chorus] like a real song. Maybe put a [Bridge] in there to break it up.

-Think of good Catholic teachings that need to be promulgated and write your lyrics around these themes. Remember this is propaganda (in the traditional sense of propagating the Faith) music. We want to use it to draw people to Catholic teaching.

-Alternatively, you can use as your song theme a subject that attacks the enemies of the Faith or ideologies that threaten the Faith (and make it clear that you are denouncing such things in the song).

-Use emotions in the styles, like “Dark Pop” or “Epic War Music” or “Gentle Sacred Uplifting” or “Anthemic”, and make sure the emotion directs the listener to either want to embrace the theme or reject the theme, according to whether it is consistent with Catholic teaching or against it.

-Also, if you want a male or female voice, and voice type, specify it in the Style. I.e. “Epic War Music, Male Baritone Vocals”

-You must write actual lyrics (rhyme and rhythm, preferably) and not just walls of text you are trying to pass off as lyrics.

-Make sure the song sounds good and that people will want to listen to it. The music shouldn’t sound like what you may think people ought to listen to but don’t in reality.

-If you want to know why we create Catholic songs with Suno and believe it is important and within Catholic teaching, listen to this podcast episode where we discuss it: https://thecatholicstate.podbean.com/e/on-catholic-music/

Happy Catholic song creating, and God bless!
